Once a sleepy fishing village, today Tamarindo is one of the largest and most busy beach towns in Costa Rica. Attracting visitors from all over the world, this well-known surf destination is located on the North West Pacific of Costa Rica, in the region of Guanacaste called “The Gold Coast”. The town is well known amongst Tico travelers and visitors from all over the world and in many cases, visitors end up making it home. Turning it into a unique micro melting pot.
The town is conveniently located within an hour’s drive from the Daniel Oduber International Airport (LIR) in Liberia or four hours from Juan Santamaria Airport (SJO) in San Jose.
